Electric Love Club isn’t a place. It’s a mindset that anyone can achieve when they are feeling the music so much that they need to dance. Sung through the voice of the smooth Kaitlyn McDaniel, “Electric Love Club” tells a short narrative of a young woman having a blast when she goes out to dance. In short, “ELC” is really about giving yourself to the music and feeling it in your soul. Floatgoat Guitarist, Gavi Torres-Olivares took a ton of inspiration from past soul and funk artists like Rick James, Earth Wind and Fire, and Prince as well as newer funk sensations like Chromeo whilst coming up with the chords and structure of the song. Gavi kept it nice and simple with lyrics both young and mature listeners can appreciate like, “dance all night, all night, every day” and “Electric Love club, its where we go to have fun,”. The lyrics are meant to leave a very specific idea as to what the band wants for all its fans!
