“Voyager” received over 2,000 YouTube streams within the first day of being released, making it instantly the most viral tune we have dropped yet!! Cheers to you for listening, and thanks for joining the heard…
We took an analog approach to a Daft Punk classic in this cover of Voyager by breaking the song down, and transposing parts where necessary to play them on our instruments. In order to make the cover as unique as possible, we included an extra section of Floatgoat original composition. This is the first Floatgoat tune with our newly added drummer, Rusty Balalau, who was recorded at KMG Life Studios up in Boulder, Colorado. This tune was over two years in the making, which took a lot of time and energy, and was quite literally a voyage, so we couldn’t be more happy to finally share it with you all.
FLOATGOAT headlined Moe’s BBQ in Englewood on March 10th alongside some amazing supporting artist such as Float Like A Buffalo, Mammoth Water, and Moonlight Bloom. To make the night extra special we brought out our favorite locals on sax and keys Henry Brigham, and James Hatch from Collidoscope. We’ve played a few shows with these guys before, including a performance at The Eldo in Crested Butte with an extensive Collido-Goat jam in between sets. We greatly appreciate the funk these guys bring to the stage and it’s always a pleasure to jam with them. Shout out to Connor Tieulie for his skills filming and video editing, and big thanks to Kevin Cole for his consistency behind the camera.
The good folks over at 303 Magazine have honored us with the NUMBER ONE spot on their “5 Colorado Songs to Checkout in January” playlist on Soundcloud! Our music is featured alongside some awesome local talent such as Willbeaux, Flyinhotsaucers, and The SIR Band. We greatly appreciate the efforts of folks over at 303 Magazine to help us spread FLOATGOAT music. Much love and thanks for listening!
Get ready for an in your face slomo FLOATGOAT experience. Videographer Trevor McKenna captures us shredding at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom. Big shout out to Bear Orange the management team of Kyle Hollingsworth, Euforquestra, and more for giving us the opportunity.
“Scrumpies” is the next level of floatgoat jamtronica as the duo steps into a micro-particle funk portal unlike anything floating goats have ever heard. The roots of this funk portal come from jazz/rock fusion, and more virtuous parts over longer jazz influenced chord progressions. The licks get scrumpadellic in this track, but always expect more improvisation in a live performance. We got inspired to write this tune on a tour with Evanoff after playing Animas City Theatre in Durango. Some dude kept making up funny words for things, and one was scrumpies, ‘The stuff that sticks to your foot after a raging party’.
OUR FIRST EP!!!!!
Whatever Floats Your Goat
FloatGoat floated over some steep mountains, dodged some big birds, wrote some tunes, slayed some evil do’ers, and somehow found the time to complete this EP on their way through the Goat-Galaxy. FloatGoat sound design was produced using all natural Goat Cheese. Straight from the utters or something…Whatever Floats Your Goat…
Whatever Floats Your Goat is a paradigm shift in the direction of FloatGoat music as the duo steps into higher tempo funktronica. Their new style sounds kinda like Rick James laying down some funk house. “Masksks”, the single which hit 600 plays within the first week on soundcloud, is a glance into the funky guitar/bass lines, crunchy synths, and cutting edge sound design that is brought to your listening pleasure in Whatever Floats Your Goat.
